Ian Hall MA BSc, Partner

Ian has 25 years experience of helping people become more effective through moving forward with competence and confidence.

Ian head PhotoIan has a keen interest in innovative approaches, learning and managing change. Much of his current work involves senior manager coaching and action learning sets, facilitating large group interventions to tap into the creative potential of employees and developing multi-media learning materials.

Ian has an MA in Management Learning from the University of Lancaster which informed his work as course director of the MSc in People & Organisational Development at the Salford University School of Management from1993 until 2000. Participants were senior development managers from all the UK business sectors. He also designed and ran many other accreditation programmes with a focus on leadership and people development.

Alongside the consultancy, Ian and his wife ran Laggan Stores, the local village store, for 8 years. They turned it round from a loss-making venture and sold it as a going concern in March 2012.

Ian has worked with: ABN Amro, BP, British Aerospace, British Nuclear Fuels, Cable & Wireless, Lever Brothers, North British Distilleries, Pilkingtons, Sainsburys, Silentnight, and Thompson Marconi Systems.

In the public sector

He has worked with: Scottish Environment Protection Agency, Scottish Leadership Foundation, Social Enterprise Academy (Scotland), BBC (Scotland), West Lothian & Tameside Councils, Academic Enterprise at Salford University, Scottish Fire Service, and the University of the Highlands and Islands.

In the NHS, he has worked with: the NHS Leadership Centre, Argyll & Clyde NHS Trust, NHS Highlands, South Cumbria Health Authority, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Central & South Manchester Primary Care Trusts, Scottish Ambulance Service, NHS Health Scotland, and NHS Quality Scotland.

Internationally

Ian has carried out projects in Sweden, The Netherlands, Nepal, South Africa and Sudan. He presented sessions at the yearly international ‘Global Forum on Action Learning & Executive Coaching’ in Johannesburg, Shanghai, Dublin, Montreal, Davos and Yokohama. He is an associate of Global Executive Learning (An international consultancy).
