1 Bathroom 1 Bath • Sleeps 1-2Enjoy our quiet self-catering ensuite ecopod at Glentruim, in the Cairngorms National Park. A rural setting with hens and ducks wandering about and wildlife all around. Our ecopod is in a quiet corner of our smallholding, 30m from the end of our cottage, among lovely beech trees. We are home to red squirrels, deer, hares and wildcats.
We built our ecopod in 2019 in an idyllic spot at the end of a private track. We are 500m off the East Highland Way Glentruim option for walking from Laggan to Newtonmore. National Cycle Route 7 runs beside the A9 just 1 mile from the cottage. We are 4 miles south of Newtonmore, 20 miles from Aviemore, midway between the Cairngorm and the Nevis Range ski areas and 7 miles from the Wolftrax Mountainbike Centre.
Inverness, Fort William and Perth are about an hour's drive.
Our ecopod is ideally located for the scenic areas, heritage and history, and outdoor activities in the Cairngorms National Park for all ages (see visitcairngorms.com). For wonderful photos of places in our community visit 'pics' in laggan.com The Highland Folk Museum (free entry, donations welcome) and Highland Wildlife Park (with 4 polar bears) are close by. As we are located in the geographic centre of the Scottish mainland we are ideally placed for touring further afield.
