Our ecopod is located in a quiet corner of our smallholding, surrounded by lovely beech trees and teeming with local wildlife, including red squirrels, deer, hares, and wildcats.
Built in 2019, our ecopod offers a peaceful retreat for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Our ecopod is located at the end of a private track, 500m off the East Highland Way Glentruim option for walking, and just 1 mile from the National Cycle Route 7, making it the perfect base for exploring the beautiful Cairngorms National Park.
Located 4 miles south of Newtonmore, 20 miles from Aviemore, and midway between the Cairngorm and the Nevis Range ski areas, our ecopod is the perfect location for outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you're a fan of skiing, sailing, hillwalking, climbing, or mountain biking, you'll find plenty of opportunities to explore the great outdoors in the Cairngorms National Park.
Inside the ecopod, you'll find a fully equipped kitchenette, complete with a microwave, fridge, kettle, and toaster, as well as an outdoor gas BBQ with a grill and hob, and a selection of dishes, cutlery, and utensils. We also provide a selection of teas, coffees, and biscuits to welcome you upon arrival. The ensuite toilet and shower room is equipped with towels, soap, toilet paper and a heated towel rail.
As you explore the local area, you'll have the opportunity to spot a wide variety of wildlife, including red squirrels, deer, birds of prey, and numerous other birds. If you're lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the elusive and highly endangered Scottish Wildcat, osprey, or golden eagle. Hens and ducks also roam freely around the garden.
We're just 200 metres from the river Spey, where you can enjoy fishing with a locally bought permit. The ecopod is also the perfect location to experience outdoor sporting activities such as skiing, sailing, hillwalking, climbing, and mountain biking. The area is also rich in heritage and history, with several local museums and wildlife parks to explore. Inverness, Fort William, and Perth are all about an hour's drive away.
So come and experience the natural beauty and tranquility of the Scottish countryside in our unique ecopod, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
